Bio
Clara Hanley writes fiction—both contemporary and historical—with strong female protagonists. She is drawn to stories about the choices people make and the consequences they live with.
Inspired by real-life women in the French Resistance, her debut novel transports readers to occupied Lyon during World War II. At its heart, it explores courage, found family, and the quiet ways love endures even in the darkest of times. The book is currently with literary agents.
She lives in Nice, where she spends her days researching archives, writing, wandering the streets of the old town, and greeting the sunrise from her window.
